XO-Nano is searching for an experienced hardware engineer that can invent and implement unique hardware designs to meet customer challenges. We work with a wide range of products from instrumented football helmets that measure impacts to beds that measure pressure points. All of these products are cutting edge and require unique circuitry, filtering and software to work properly.

The ideal candidate will excel at researching, designing, developing, and testing hardware for utility monitoring applications. You will participate in the design of electronic circuits with special emphasis in radio frequency (RF) and power efficiency. You’ll create schematic designs that meet product requirements while conforming to mass-manufacturing standards. You’ll experience all phases of hardware development including design, prototypes, integrations, tests, manufacturing setups, and full production runs. It’s exciting, it’s always changing, and you’ll never be bored. Be prepared to think outside the box on a regular basis; we often create things in unexpected ways.

Required

• Strong understanding of RF circuit theory and implementation, specifically Bluetooth.
• Proficient with hardware design and layout tools.
• Experience designing products with microcontrollers, including ARM and embedded Linux.
• Experience with writing embedded software for microcontrollers in C.
• Familiarity with electronic testing lab equipment and tools.
• Sole U.S. Citizenship

Preferred

• Experience with antennas, long-range/low-power radio technologies (such as LoRa).
• Experience designing IoT devices.
• Experience with testing automation tools and scripting languages such as Python.
• Experience with computer network protocols such as TCP/IP, Ethernet, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and 3 years of experience required.
• Master’s degree and 5+ years of experience desired.

Compensation

Compensation will depend on the applicant’s experience but will range from 70k to 110k annualy with stock options.
